ALFA Self-Watering Planters have a water reservoir below the planting surface joined by filter columns filled with soil allowing the water to naturally get to the roots as needed.

The filter columns allow the needed amount of water to the plants without the frequent task of watering with conventional planters. An overflow drain is located at the soil level preventing over-saturation of the plants

Plants do best in an environment where they are never under stress and that is just what the ALFA Planter provides - never too much or too little moisture. Plants need water and oxygen, as well as the nutrients they find in the soil and water. With the ALFA Planter, the soil is never saturated so air and oxygen are always available.

You can use soil-less mixtures and water soluble fertilizers tailored specifically to the plantings. The results are stronger and larger plants with better colour and more bloom. ALFA Planters have the added advantage that the surface area is generally dry, there is less weed germination, a cleaner looking presentation, and deep rooting encouraged by the lower water table.
